64 High Street, Newport, IOW PO30 1BA
I am pleased to be able to inform you that my new business, Island Photo Community Hub, that was suggested at the end of October 2025 is now a reality. After the closure of Island Photo Centre on 18th October I had to undergo some radiotherapy at QA Hospital Portsmouth throughout December. January saw a concerted effort to get things started, and while that brought some unforeseen problems, we have been trading since beginning of March and able to offer all the services that we did at Island Photo Centre – plus a few more. It is very much as case of “all systems go!” The international online passport/visa and ID photos system is updated and better than ever. Quality photo prints from cameras, phones, USB and online are available, as are photo gifts from Fujifilm UK. Photo scanning and digital conversion from all types of media and restoration services are still very much part of the business, as are the extensive photocopying service options in black and white and colour, A4 or A3 on standard paper or card. The video to DVD and USB transfer service is back – and better than ever, with the ability to now transfer more video formats, and for the first time offering Cine film to DVD/USB transfer too. I will still be offering the digital camera sensor cleaning service that is so important for interchangeable lens cameras too. In a new venture, you can now commission Island Photo Hub to do photography for commercial, house sales, holiday lettings and portrait sessions too. Archival recording of collections, artworks and museum or heritage work can also be undertaken.
My new premises are in the Newport and Carisbrooke Community Council building at 64 High Street, just opposite the newly relocated Love Running shop and Correo Lounge. These shop units give me level access to the High Street and an opportunity to offer the photo services my customers wanted me to continue.
This website Link can be used to book passport photo appointments and sensor cleaning, as well as online photo printing in affiliation with Fujifilm UK. The Facebook page, Island Photo Community Hub, has proved popular too, and both of these have regular updates, offers and newsletter. I would like to thank all those who have encouraged and helped me through what was a difficult time. I couldn’t have done it without your help.
